The book of Judges contains an allegory that directly affects every one of us today. In looking at chapter 1, we see the following theme among the tribes of Israel as they each went into their inheritance:
(Judg 1:21, 27-35 [TS98])
However, the children of Binyamin did not drive out the Yeḇusites who inhabited Yerushalayim, so the Yeḇusites have dwelt with the children of Binyamin in Yerushalayim to this day. And Menashsheh did not dispossess Bĕyth She’an and its villages, nor Ta῾anaḵ and its villages, nor the inhabitants of Dor and its villages, nor the inhabitants of Yiḇle῾am and its villages, nor the inhabitants of Meḡiddo and its villages, for the Kena῾anites desired to dwell in that land. And it came to be, when Yisra’ĕl was strong, that they put the Kena῾anites into compulsory labour, but did not completely drive them out. Neither did Ephrayim drive out the Kena῾anites who dwelt in Gezer, so the Kena῾anites dwelt in their midst, in Gezer. Neither did Zeḇulun drive out the inhabitants of Qitron or the inhabitants of Nahalol, so the Kena῾anites dwelt in their midst, and became compulsory labour. Neither did Ashĕr drive out the inhabitants of Akko nor the inhabitants of Tsiḏon, nor of Aḥlaḇ, nor of Aḵziḇ, nor of Ḥelbah, nor of Aphiq, nor of Reḥoḇ. So the Ashĕrites dwelt in the midst of the Kena῾anites, the inhabitants of the land, because they did not drive them out. Neither did Naphtali drive out the inhabitants of Bĕyth Shemesh nor the inhabitants of Bĕyth Anath, but they dwelt among the Kena῾anites, the inhabitants of the land. And the inhabitants of Bĕyth Shemesh and of Bĕyth Anath became compulsory labour for them. And the Amorites pressed the children of Dan into the mountains, for they would not allow them to come down to the valley, and the Amorites desired to dwell in Mount Ḥeres, in Ayalon, and in Sha῾alḇim. But when the hand of the house of Yosĕph became stronger, they became compulsory labour.
More to come...

Hi Ron,
I "accidentally" came across your page.
Do you find it interesting that the "enemies in the land" back then are still here today? The powers of darkness behind those pagan nations in the OT are still here today deceiving and destroying as they once did. In fact, they have never stopped.
Of course the land today is US. You and me and ALL others. The land of our mind, will and emotions but the enemy is still the same, the prince of the power of the air, the god of this world and all his confederation of evil spirits.
Their chief aim is to steal, kill and destroy.
There is precedence you know for the powers of darkness to "make people" do things. People always say that you can't blame it on the Devil. That is true in many cases. In many cases you must crucify the flesh and pull down vain imaginations, yet in other cases you must kick out the inhabitants in the land. Some people don't want to crucify the flesh and blame everything on Satan while others don't believe in Satan at all and blame everything on the flesh.
The same powers and principalities that were behind the pagan nations in the OT who were doing their best to wipe out the Children of Israel, are still around today and they are still engaged in deception and warring against all of mankind.
Exo 23:32
Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.
Exo 23:33
They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.
Today, you can still make covenant with false gods (demon spirits) and they will gladly dwell in your "land". You will become captive and the more they get control of your mind, will and emotions the more control they have of your body and you will fall into greater and greater sins.
Nice to see someone else is talking about the inhabitants in the land.
Modern Christianity has pretty much been taken captive by Satan and they think he is Jesus. It's "another" Jesus not the real Jesus.
All the Best,
Pilgrim
